Description

Indulgent chocolate mousse delivers airy texture and rich flavor. This recipe uses simple ingredients for a perfect make-ahead dessert.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces dark chocolate 60% cocoa chopped
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream cold
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Chop chocolate into small pieces.
  2. Heat 1/4 cup cream in saucepan over low heat until steaming.
  3. Remove from heat add chocolate and butter.
  4. Stir until smooth and glossy then cool to room temperature.
  5. Beat 1 1/2 cups cold cream powdered sugar and vanilla in bowl until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold one-third whipped cream into cooled chocolate until smooth.
  7. Gently fold in remaining whipped cream in two additions preserving air.
  8. Spoon into 6 ramekins or dessert glasses.
  9. Refrigerate at least 2 hours until set.
  10. Serve chilled.
