Description

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/3 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon red gel food coloring
  • 36 chocolate kiss candies, unwrapped


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  3. Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl with electric mixer on medium until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add eggs, vanilla, and food coloring. Beat until fully combined.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
  6. Scoop 1-tablespoon portions of dough. Roll each into a ball.
  7. Place balls 2 inches apart on prepared sheets.
  8. Bake one sheet at a time for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are set and lightly golden.
  9. Remove from oven. Immediately press one chocolate kiss into center of each cookie.
  10. Cool on sheet 5 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
