Description

Viral Marry Me Salmon With Garlic Butter delivers a restaurant-quality dish with simple steps perfect for beginner cooks. You create flaky salmon bathed in a rich, creamy sauce featuring sun-dried tomatoes and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each), skin-on or skinless
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 45 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, thinly sliced (drained if packed in oil)
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest, plus lemon wedges to serve (optional)
  • Fresh basil, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon dry, season both sides with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear salmon 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Transfer salmon to a plate.
  2. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet. Sauté garlic 30–60 seconds until fragrant. Add sun-dried tomatoes and cook 1–2 minutes.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and simmer briefly. Add heavy cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Whisk and simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in lemon zest if using.
  4. Nestle salmon back into the skillet. Spoon sauce over the top. Simmer on medium-low 3–5 minutes until just cooked through and flaky (aim for 125–130°F internal temp).
  5. Garnish with fresh basil. Serve over pasta, rice, or potatoes with extra sauce and lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Use sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil for richer flavor; drain well before adding to avoid a greasy sauce.
  • Do not over-reduce the sauce before returning salmon; it will thicken more as it simmers with the fish and the cheese melts in.
  • For extra garlic butter flavor, add a final teaspoon of butter off heat to gloss the sauce before serving.
