Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons hot honey, plus more to drizzle
- Fresh basil, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Transfer chicken to a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and garlic to the skillet. Cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant. Stir in sun-dried tomatoes, red pepper flakes, and chicken broth. Simmer 1–2 minutes to deglaze the pan.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan. Simmer 2–3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons hot honey. Taste the sauce and adjust salt and pepper as needed.
- Return the chicken and any accumulated juices to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the chicken. Bake at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with sliced fresh basil and drizzle with extra hot honey before serving. Serve with your favorite side.
Notes
- Hot honey can be made by warming 1/4 cup honey with 1–2 teaspoons hot sauce and a pinch of cayenne and salt to taste.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, add more chicken broth. If it is too thin after baking, simmer longer or whisk in extra Parmesan off the heat.
- For quicker cooking, use thin chicken cutlets and finish cooking on the stovetop, simmering in the sauce for 4–6 minutes.
