Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 4 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2 cups Unsalted Butter, room temperature
  • 10 Large Eggs, room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups Buttermilk, room temperature
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tsps Almond extract
  • 2 tsps Vanilla extract
  • Black, Red, Yellow and Green gel food coloring
  • For the glaze:
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2-4 tbsp Whole Milk, room temperature
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp Almond extract
  • Black, Red, Yellow and Green gel food coloring


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 315°F. Spray an 18-cup bundt pan with baking spray.
  2. Beat the butter until smooth, then slowly add the granulated sugar. Mix on medium speed for about five minutes until creamy.
  3. Add the almond and vanilla extracts. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing just until combined before adding the next.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. On low speed, add the flour mixture to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with the buttermilk. Start and end with the flour mixture.
  5. Divide the batter equally into four separate bowls. Add a few drops of black food coloring to one bowl and mix. Repeat this process in the other bowls with the red, green, and yellow food coloring.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan in layers. Start by pouring the black batter and spreading it evenly. Then, add the red, yellow, and green batters, spreading each layer evenly on top of the last.
  7. Bake for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 20 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. For the glaze, whisk the powdered sugar, vanilla, and almond extract in a bowl. Slowly add milk until you reach your desired consistency.
  10. Divide the glaze into four small bowls. Add a few drops of each food coloring to the separate bowls and mix.
  11. Drizzle the colorful glazes over your cooled pound cake. Let the glaze set before serving.
