Description
Turkey Cheddar Melt on Sourdough combines sliced turkey, melted cheddar, and turkey bacon between buttery toasted bread for a quick savory lunch ready in 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 slices sourdough bread, 1/2 inch thick each
- 4 ounces thinly sliced deli turkey breast
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 slices turkey bacon, cooked crisp
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cook turkey bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat for 4 minutes per side until crisp; drain on paper towels.
- Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each sourdough slice.
- Spread Dijon mustard over the mayonnaise on one bread slice; sprinkle with black pepper.
- Layer one cheddar slice, both turkey bacon slices, deli turkey, and remaining cheddar slice on the mustard side.
- Top with second bread slice, mayonnaise side down.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and spread butter on the outside of both bread sides.
- Place sandwich in skillet and cook 3 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip and cook 2 to 3 minutes more until second side is golden and cheese melts fully.
- Remove from heat and rest 1 minute before cutting in half diagonally.
- Serve immediately.
