Description

Turkey Cheddar Melt on Sourdough combines sliced turkey, melted cheddar, and turkey bacon between buttery toasted bread for a quick savory lunch ready in 15 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices sourdough bread, 1/2 inch thick each
  • 4 ounces thinly sliced deli turkey breast
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices turkey bacon, cooked crisp
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Cook turkey bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat for 4 minutes per side until crisp; drain on paper towels.
  2. Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each sourdough slice.
  3. Spread Dijon mustard over the mayonnaise on one bread slice; sprinkle with black pepper.
  4. Layer one cheddar slice, both turkey bacon slices, deli turkey, and remaining cheddar slice on the mustard side.
  5. Top with second bread slice, mayonnaise side down.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and spread butter on the outside of both bread sides.
  7. Place sandwich in skillet and cook 3 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Flip and cook 2 to 3 minutes more until second side is golden and cheese melts fully.
  9. Remove from heat and rest 1 minute before cutting in half diagonally.
  10. Serve immediately.
