Description
This recipe makes a delicious cinnamon swirl banana bread that fills your home with an incredible aroma.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- For the swirl: 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon & 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
- In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and brown sugar for the swirl.
- Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top. Add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
- Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon sugar through the batter.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cover with foil if the top browns too quickly.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- If the top of the bread gets too brown during baking, you can loosely cover it with foil.
- A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean when the bread is done.
