Description
Strawberry cream cheese French toast roll ups cooked until golden and rolled in cinnamon sugar. A fun, dippable breakfast everyone loves.
Ingredients
- 10 slices soft white sandwich bread, crusts removed
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- ¾ cup finely chopped fresh strawberries
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup whole milk
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Stir together the cream cheese and powdered sugar in a small bowl until smooth.
- Whisk the eggs and milk until fully combined in another bowl.
- Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a third bowl and set aside.
- Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin until thin.
- Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture over each slice and sprinkle evenly with strawberries.
- Roll each slice up tightly and gently press to seal.
- Melt the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each roll up into the egg mixture, then place seam side down in the skillet.
- Cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side, turning until all sides are golden brown and the egg coating is fully cooked.
- Immediately roll the warm French toast roll ups in the cinnamon sugar mixture and serve warm.
Notes
- Use very soft bread for easier rolling and a tighter seal during cooking.
