Description
Steak bites garlic butter pasta skillet with juicy seared steak and rich buttery sauce. A quick and satisfying dinner perfect for busy nights.
Ingredients
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup reserved pasta water
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- While the pasta cooks, pat the steak cubes dry and season with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the steak in a single layer and sear for 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside to rest.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Toss to coat in the garlic butter.
- Pour in the reserved pasta water and sprinkle in the parmesan cheese. Stir until the sauce becomes smooth and lightly coats the pasta.
- Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss gently to combine. Heat for 1 to 2 minutes until everything is warmed through.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For the best sear, avoid overcrowding the pan and cook the steak in batches if needed.
- Let the steak rest briefly before adding it back to keep it juicy.
- Cook steak to a safe minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees and allow it to rest before serving.
