Description

Steak bites garlic butter pasta skillet with juicy seared steak and rich buttery sauce. A quick and satisfying dinner perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  2. While the pasta cooks, pat the steak cubes dry and season with salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the steak in a single layer and sear for 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
  4. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside to rest.
  5. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Toss to coat in the garlic butter.
  7. Pour in the reserved pasta water and sprinkle in the parmesan cheese. Stir until the sauce becomes smooth and lightly coats the pasta.
  8. Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss gently to combine. Heat for 1 to 2 minutes until everything is warmed through.
  9. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For the best sear, avoid overcrowding the pan and cook the steak in batches if needed.
  • Let the steak rest briefly before adding it back to keep it juicy.
  • Cook steak to a safe minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees and allow it to rest before serving.
