Description

These soft cheese-filled dinner rolls bake up fluffy with a gooey center. This is an easy homemade roll recipe perfect for everyday meals.


Ingredients

  • 3 and one half cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 and one quarter cups plain whole milk
  • 1 third cup olive oil
  • 1 and one half cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter


Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 375°F and grease a 9 by 13 inch baking dish.
  2. Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Add the milk and olive oil and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 2 minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Flatten each piece and place about 2 tablespoons of mozzarella in the center.
  7. Fold the dough around the cheese and pinch to seal it into a ball.
  8. Arrange the rolls seam side down in the prepared dish.
  9. Brush the tops evenly with melted butter.
  10. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until puffed, lightly golden, and cooked through.
