Description
Crispy, juicy, and packed with Caesar flavor, these smash chicken Caesar tacos combine golden tortillas, tender chicken, and fresh romaine for a quick dinner win.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
- ⅓ cup Caesar dressing
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
- Optional: crushed croutons or red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions
- Mix ground chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl until combined.
- Lay out tortillas on a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of the chicken mixture on one side of each tortilla, pressing it flat with the back of a spoon.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil.
- Place each tortilla chicken-side down in the skillet. Cook 2–3 minutes, pressing down with a spatula until the chicken is browned and reaches 165°F internally.
- Flip and cook the tortilla side for 30–45 seconds until golden and crisp. Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining tortillas.
- Toss romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Spoon the salad onto the crispy side of each taco. Sprinkle with Parmesan and optional croutons or pepper flakes.
- Fold and serve immediately while warm and crisp.
Notes
- The internal temperature for the chicken must reach 165°F for safety.
- Press the chicken firmly when cooking to achieve the ‘smash’ texture.
