Description
These smash burger tacos are crispy, juicy, and loaded with classic burger flavor. An easy skillet dinner ready in minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef 80 percent lean
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 4 slices cheddar cheese halved
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/4 cup sliced pickles
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
Instructions
- Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions and gently press each portion evenly over one side of a tortilla.
- Season the beef evenly with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat a large cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Place tortillas beef side down in the hot skillet and press firmly with a spatula.
- Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the beef is deeply browned and crispy.
- Flip, add cheese to the beef side, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the tortilla is lightly toasted and the cheese melts.
- Remove from the skillet and repeat with remaining tacos.
- Stir together mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard.
- Top tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles, and burger sauce. Serve immediately.
