Description

Tender slow cooker Greek chicken pita wraps with fresh toppings and creamy sauce. An easy flavorful meal perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 6 pita breads
  • 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup sliced cucumber
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, thyme, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the marinade over them, turning to coat evenly.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or until the chicken is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
  4. Remove the chicken and shred it using two forks, then return it to the slow cooker juices to stay moist.
  5. In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, chopped cucumber, dill, and salt until smooth.
  6. Warm the pita breads in a skillet over medium heat for about 1 minute per side.
  7. Fill each pita with shredded chicken, romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced cucumber, and red onion.
  8. Drizzle the yogurt sauce over the filling and fold to serve.

  • For extra texture, lightly toast the filled pita wraps in a skillet for 1 to 2 minutes before serving.
