Ingredients
- 9 ounces oyster crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 half teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 1 teaspoon flaky salt
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Spread the oyster crackers in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter completely.
- Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
- Continue cooking and stirring for 2 to 3 minutes until thick and glossy.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla flavoring.
- Pour the hot caramel evenly over the crackers and gently toss to coat.
- Sprinkle the crackers evenly with the salt.
- Bake for 7 to 9 minutes, watching closely so the caramel does not burn.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely before breaking into clusters.
