Description

Salted caramel crackers are an easy sweet snack made with buttery caramel and crisp crackers. Perfect for parties, gifting, or quick treats.


Ingredients

  • 9 ounces oyster crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 half teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon flaky salt


Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread the oyster crackers in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter completely.
  4. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
  5. Continue cooking and stirring for 2 to 3 minutes until thick and glossy.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla flavoring.
  7. Pour the hot caramel evenly over the crackers and gently toss to coat.
  8. Sprinkle the crackers evenly with the salt.
  9. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes, watching closely so the caramel does not burn.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before breaking into clusters.
