Description
Warm, spiced fruit tea made from real juices and black tea, perfect for cozy evenings.
Ingredients
- 5 black tea bags
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 1/4 cups pineapple juice
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 12 whole cloves
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 2 to 3 quarts hot water
Instructions
- Place the pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon juice, and sugar into a slow cooker and stir until the sugar begins to dissolve.
- In a heat-safe container, combine the tea bags, cloves, and 2 cinnamon sticks. Pour the boiling water over the top and steep for 5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags and strain out the cloves and cinnamon sticks, then pour the brewed tea into the slow cooker.
- Add 2 quarts of hot water and stir well. Taste and add additional hot water if a lighter flavor is desired.
- Add the remaining 2 cinnamon sticks to the slow cooker.
- Cover and heat on low for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the tea is fully heated and fragrant.
- Stir well before serving and ladle into mugs.
Notes
- This tea can be kept warm in the slow cooker for serving over several hours.
