Description

Warm, spiced fruit tea made from real juices and black tea, perfect for cozy evenings.


Ingredients

  • 5 black tea bags
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 1/4 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 to 3 quarts hot water


Instructions

  1. Place the pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon juice, and sugar into a slow cooker and stir until the sugar begins to dissolve.
  2. In a heat-safe container, combine the tea bags, cloves, and 2 cinnamon sticks. Pour the boiling water over the top and steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bags and strain out the cloves and cinnamon sticks, then pour the brewed tea into the slow cooker.
  4. Add 2 quarts of hot water and stir well. Taste and add additional hot water if a lighter flavor is desired.
  5. Add the remaining 2 cinnamon sticks to the slow cooker.
  6. Cover and heat on low for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the tea is fully heated and fragrant.
  7. Stir well before serving and ladle into mugs.
