Description

Creamy, fruity, and elegant layered desserts perfect for parties and special gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups prepared raspberry gelatin dessert
  • 2 cups pound cake cubes
  • 24 fresh raspberries
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ounces white chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 fresh raspberries
  • White chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the raspberry gelatin dessert according to package directions and let it cool slightly.
  2. Warm heavy cream and milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. Whisk egg yolks, granulated sugar, and cornstarch in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. Slowly whisk half of the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture. Pour everything back into the saucepan and cook over low heat, whisking constantly, until thickened.
  5. Remove custard from heat and stir in vanilla extract and white chocolate until smooth and melted.
  6. Cover custard surface directly with parchment paper and let it cool completely.
  7. Divide pound cake cubes between 4 clear serving glasses and top each with fresh raspberries.
  8. Spoon cooled raspberry gelatin over the cake layers. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until set.
  9. Spoon cooled white chocolate custard evenly over the gelatin layer and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  10. Beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  11. Pipe or spoon whipped cream onto each trifle and garnish with fresh raspberries and white chocolate shavings.
  12. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For the prettiest layers, use clear glasses and chill each layer fully before adding the next.
