Description

Quick soft dinner rolls that are fluffy, buttery, and ready in about 35 minutes. An easy homemade bread recipe for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 105 degrees F)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter, for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 by 13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, instant yeast, and sugar. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes until slightly foamy.
  3. Add softened butter, egg, salt, and 1 1/2 cups of the flour. Mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Knead by hand or with a mixer for 3 to 4 minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a smooth ball and place in the prepared pan.
  6. Cover loosely with a clean towel and let rest for 10 minutes until slightly puffy.
  7. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the centers reach 190 degrees F.
  8. Remove from the oven and brush immediately with melted butter. Serve warm.
