Description
Quick soft dinner rolls that are fluffy, buttery, and ready in about 35 minutes. An easy homemade bread recipe for any meal.
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (about 105 degrees F)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons melted butter, for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 by 13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, instant yeast, and sugar. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes until slightly foamy.
- Add softened butter, egg, salt, and 1 1/2 cups of the flour. Mix until combined.
- Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Knead by hand or with a mixer for 3 to 4 minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a smooth ball and place in the prepared pan.
- Cover loosely with a clean towel and let rest for 10 minutes until slightly puffy.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the centers reach 190 degrees F.
- Remove from the oven and brush immediately with melted butter. Serve warm.
Notes
- Store leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
