Description

Welcome to NoobRecipes! I’m Adam, and today we’re making Quick Pickled Banana Peppers. Cooking should be fun and simple, and these peppers are perfect for beginners. Let’s get started!

Ingredients

  • 14-16 oz fresh banana peppers
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 cups vinegar (white vinegar, wine vinegar, white balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar)
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1/2-1 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Clean your mason jar.
  2. Bring water and vinegar to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  3. While the water and vinegar boil, slice your banana peppers into discs, discarding the stem.
  4. Fill the clean jar with the sliced banana peppers.
  5. Once the water-vinegar mixture boils, add the minced garlic and salt. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  6. Let the mixture cool for 5-10 minutes, then carefully pour it over the banana peppers in the jar.
  7. Allow the jar to cool to room temperature.
  8. Once cooled, put the lid on the jar and refrigerate.
  9. You can enjoy them after 30-60 minutes for a crisp texture or wait 24+ hours for softer, more marinated peppers. For softer peppers, you can blanch the sliced peppers and garlic in the boiling vinegar mixture for 5 minutes before jarring.

Notes

  • For softer peppers, blanch sliced peppers and garlic in boiling vinegar mixture for 5 minutes.
