Description

This pineapple pecan cheese ball is creamy, savory, and lightly sweet with pineapple, onion, and crunchy pecans. It is a classic make ahead party appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 8 ounces crushed pineapple very well drained
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped yellow onion
  • ⅛ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans


Instructions

  1. Mix the softened cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth.
  2. Add the drained crushed pineapple, chopped onion, and garlic salt. Stir until combined.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour to firm the mixture and blend flavors.
  4. Remove the chilled mixture and shape it into a round ball with clean hands.
  5. Spread the chopped pecans on a plate. Roll the cheese ball in the pecans, pressing gently so they stick evenly.
  6. Wrap the coated cheese ball tightly and refrigerate until serving time.
