Description
This pineapple pecan cheese ball is creamy, savory, and lightly sweet with pineapple, onion, and crunchy pecans. It is a classic make ahead party appetizer.
Ingredients
- 16 ounces cream cheese softened
- 8 ounces crushed pineapple very well drained
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped yellow onion
- ⅛ teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans
Instructions
- Mix the softened cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add the drained crushed pineapple, chopped onion, and garlic salt. Stir until combined.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour to firm the mixture and blend flavors.
- Remove the chilled mixture and shape it into a round ball with clean hands.
- Spread the chopped pecans on a plate. Roll the cheese ball in the pecans, pressing gently so they stick evenly.
- Wrap the coated cheese ball tightly and refrigerate until serving time.
- Let the cheese ball sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving for easier spreading.
Notes
- Drain the pineapple extremely well to prevent a soft or loose cheese ball.
