Description
Refreshing homemade peach lemonade perfect for a summer day.
Ingredients
- 8 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
- 6 cups cold water
- Ice for serving
- Fresh mint sprigs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the sliced peaches and 1 cup of cold water. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the peach puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing down on the solids to extract all the liquid. Discard the pulp.
- Add the sugar and lemon juice to the pitcher with the peach liquid. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Pour in the remaining 5 cups of cold water and stir well.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired by adding more sugar or lemon juice.
- Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve over ice with fresh mint sprigs, if desired.
Notes
- For a smoother lemonade, you can use a juicer for the peaches instead of a blender.
- If peaches are not in season, you can use frozen peaches. Thaw them before blending.
- This recipe can be easily doubled for a larger batch.
