- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup M&M candies
- Flake sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line two large baking sheets with Silpat mats or parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the oats, flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, use a mixer to beat the softened butter, peanut butter, and both sugars until creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and M&M candies.
- Scoop rounded balls of dough (about 2 tablespoons each) onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between cookies.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned and the centers are still soft.
- Remove cookies from the oven. Sprinkle with flake sea salt. You can also press a few extra chocolate chips and M&Ms on top if desired.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Ensure your butter is at room temperature for best creaming results.
- Do not overmix the dough once the dry ingredients are added.
- Adjust baking time slightly based on your oven. Cookies should be soft in the middle.
