Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/3 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- For the yogurt sauce:
- 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
- 1 small garlic clove minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, red onion, garlic, parsley, dill, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined.
- Roll the mixture into small meatballs about 1 inch wide and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush or lightly drizzle the meatballs with olive oil.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until browned and cooked through to an internal temperature of 160°F.
- While the meatballs bake, stir together the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, dill, garlic, and salt in a small bowl.
- Serve the warm meatball bites with the yogurt dipping sauce.
Notes
- For even cooking, make the meatballs the same size and avoid overmixing the meat mixture.
