  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • For the maple glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1-2 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment or silicone mats.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Mix in pumpkin puree and maple syrup until smooth.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Scoop dough by tablespoons onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake 12-15 minutes, until edges are set and tops puff slightly.
  8. Cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
  9. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla until smooth and pourable.
