Description

A quick low carb dinner with savory beef and tender broccoli ready in one pan.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 85 percent lean
  • 3 cups broccoli florets cut into bite size pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 half cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 half teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 half teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 half teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking it apart, until browned and fully cooked.
  3. Stir in the garlic, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and paprika and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream, reduce heat to medium low, and cover the skillet. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until the broccoli is tender but still bright green.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the mixture.
  7. Cover again and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is melted and creamy.
  8. Stir gently and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the skillet sit covered for a few minutes after cooking to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
