Mix nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and dark chocolate for portion-controlled trail mix bags. Make 8 servings in 10 minutes for healthy snacking.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 1 cup walnut halves
  • ¾ cup pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
  • ¾ cup sunflower seeds
  • ¾ cup dried cranberries
  • ½ cup dried apricots, chopped
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup chia seeds
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F and spread almonds, cashews, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds on a large rimmed baking sheet.
  2. Toast nuts and seeds in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring halfway through, until lightly golden and fragrant.
  3. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet for 15 minutes before mixing with other ingredients.
  4. Chop dried apricots into small bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife or kitchen scissors.
  5. Combine all cooled toasted nuts and seeds in a large mixing bowl with dried cranberries, chopped apricots, dark chocolate chips, chia seeds, and sea salt.
  6. Stir the mixture thoroughly with a large spoon until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout.
  7. Divide the trail mix evenly among 8 small zip-top bags or airtight containers, portioning about ¾ cup per bag.
  8. Seal bags or containers tightly and label with the date.
  9. Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place for up to 2 weeks for food safety and best quality.
