Description

A simple and delicious recipe for making homemade Doritos that are crispy and flavorful.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 pack (15 pieces) corn or flour tortillas
  • 2 tbsp ranch seasoning
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ranch seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, sugar, onion powder, and salt. Stir until mixed evenly.
  2. Slice the tortillas into 6 to 8 equal triangles.
  3. Heat the oil in a deep skillet or pot to about 350°F (180°C).
  4. Carefully drop the tortilla triangles into the hot oil and fry for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips and let them drain on paper towels.
  6. Toss the warm chips in the seasoning mix until well coated.
  7. Repeat the frying process with the remaining tortilla pieces.

Notes

  • Keep an eye on the chips while frying to prevent burning.
  • Adjust the seasoning to your taste preference.
  • Store any leftover chips in an airtight container.
