Warm, buttery fried apples that taste like a restaurant classic, made simply at home.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 large apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Peel, core, and slice the apples.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until bubbling.
- Stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon. Let them combine and bubble for a few moments.
- Add the sliced apples to the skillet. Toss gently to coat them with the butter mixture.
- Pour in the water, cover the skillet, and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir occasionally until apples are tender but hold their shape.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. Let the apples sit for a few minutes to thicken slightly before serving warm.
