Description

Warm, buttery fried apples that taste like a restaurant classic, made simply at home.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until bubbling.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon. Let them combine and bubble for a few moments.
  4. Add the sliced apples to the skillet. Toss gently to coat them with the butter mixture.
  5. Pour in the water, cover the skillet, and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir occasionally until apples are tender but hold their shape.
  6. Remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. Let the apples sit for a few minutes to thicken slightly before serving warm.
