Ingredients
- 2 cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil plus more for drizzling
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped or 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the flour, salt, and 1/4 cup olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic, or use a stand mixer for 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a 13×18-inch baking sheet with olive oil.
- Punch down the dough and transfer it to the prepared baking sheet. Stretch and press it to fit the pan.
- Use your fingers to create dimples in the dough. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic, Parmesan, rosemary, and sea salt.
- Let the dough rest an additional 20–30 minutes while the oven finishes preheating.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before slicing.
