Description
This Garlic Parmesan Chicken Tortellini recipe makes a creamy, flavorful one-skillet meal that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner. It’s simple to make and tastes like it came from your favorite Italian restaurant.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh cheese tortellini
- 1.5 lbs boneless chicken breast, cubed
- 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook tortellini until al dente, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- Steam broccoli for 3–4 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender. Plunge into ice water, then drain.
- Season chicken with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken until golden and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Remove skillet from heat, slowly whisk in heavy cream, then Parmesan cheese until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Add reserved pasta water if needed to thin sauce.
- Return chicken to skillet, add tortellini and broccoli. Toss to coat evenly in sauce.
- Serve hot with extra Parmesan.
Notes
- For a thinner sauce, add a little more pasta water.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like peas or spinach.
- Adjust garlic amount to your preference.
