Description
Quick and flavorful garlic butter ramen noodles made with pantry staples. Ready in 10 minutes for an easy lunch or dinner upgrade. These noodles are rich, buttery, and full of umami flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 packages instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- Fried egg (optional, to serve)
- Toasted sesame seeds (optional, to serve)
- Extra green onions (optional, to serve)
Instructions
- Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Add ramen noodles and cook for 2–3 minutes until just tender. Drain and set aside, reserving ¼ cup of the cooking water.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30–45 seconds until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create a glossy sauce.
- Add cooked noodles and reserved water to the skillet. Toss until the noodles are evenly coated and the sauce clings to them.
- Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil if using. Top with green onions, sesame seeds, or a fried egg. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Discard the seasoning packets from the instant ramen.
- Reserve ¼ cup of the noodle cooking water to help create the sauce.
