Description

Savory, quick noodle bowls with tender beef, garlic, and a rich soy ginger sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces lo mein noodles
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onions
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. Boil water in a large pot and cook noodles per package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  4. Add beef in a single layer and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
  5. Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Pour soy sauce mixture into the skillet and simmer gently.
  7. Cook the sauce for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat.
  9. Remove from heat and sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.
  10. Serve hot.

  • Add steamed broccoli or sliced bell peppers in the last minute of cooking for extra vegetables.
