Description

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 6 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line an 8 by 8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. Whisk in the sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring, mixing until fully combined.
  4. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt, then fold gently just until no dry spots remain.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the batter and gently swirl with a knife.
  8. Bake for 28 to 32 minutes until the edges set and the center looks slightly fudgy.
  9. Cool completely in the pan before slicing.
