Description
These fudgy brownies are thick, rich, and intensely chocolatey with a soft center and crackly top. This is an easy from scratch brownie recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2¼ cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1¼ cups cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9 by 13 inch baking dish.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the sugar and stir until combined. Heat just until the mixture is hot and glossy but not bubbling, then remove from heat.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs until thick, pale, and well blended.
- Add the cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract to the eggs and mix until smooth.
- Slowly pour the warm butter sugar mixture into the egg mixture while stirring constantly until fully combined.
- Add the flour and chocolate chips and mix just until smooth and no dry flour remains.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 28 to 32 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft. A toothpick inserted should come out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Remove from the oven and cool completely before slicing for clean edges.
Notes
- Do not overbake or the brownies will lose their fudgy texture and become cake like.
