Description
Five-Minute Whipped Feta Dip With Hot Honey is a quick, flavorful appetizer. You blend feta cheese with Greek yogurt and seasonings until smooth. Finish it with a drizzle of spicy-sweet hot honey and crunchy nuts for an easy crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 8 oz feta cheese (block, drained and patted dry)
- 1/2 cup thick Greek yogurt or whipped cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 small garlic clove, grated
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch of salt (taste first; feta is salty)
- Hot honey: 3 tablespoons honey
- 1/2–1 teaspoon chili flakes or a few dashes hot sauce
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar for brightness
- Toppings and dippers: 2 tablespoons chopped roasted pistachios or almonds
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Fresh thyme or mint leaves
- Warm pita, naan, crackers, cucumbers, and carrots
Instructions
- Make the base: In a food processor, combine feta, yogurt (or whipped cream cheese), olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, black pepper, and a small pinch of salt. Blend 30–60 seconds until ultra-smooth and creamy, scraping sides once.
- Make hot honey: Warm honey just until runny, then stir in chili flakes or hot sauce. Add vinegar if using.
- Assemble: Spoon feta onto a shallow plate and swirl. Drizzle generously with hot honey. Top with pistachios, lemon zest, and herbs. Serve immediately with warm pita and crisp veggies.
Notes
- Texture control: For looser dip, add 1–2 teaspoons cold water or more olive oil and blend briefly.
- Extra tang: Swap half the yogurt for cottage cheese, then blend until silky.
- Make-ahead: Blend feta base up to 2 days ahead; bring to room temp, then garnish and drizzle before serving.
