Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. In a bowl combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Mash lightly and let sit for 15 minutes until juicy.
  2. Blend the strawberry mixture until mostly smooth with a few small chunks remaining.
  3. Stir in heavy cream, milk, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer instructions until thick and creamy.
  5. Transfer to a freezer safe container and freeze for at least 3 to 4 hours until firm.
  6. Scoop and serve cold.
