Description

Make this easy peach cobbler with fresh peaches and a golden buttery topping. Simple ingredients and perfect for summer desserts.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced
  • 3 quarter cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 quarter teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 half cup unsalted butter melted


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and pour the melted butter into a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl combine sliced peaches with half cup of the sugar lemon juice and vanilla. Stir and set aside.
  3. In another bowl whisk flour baking powder salt and remaining sugar.
  4. Stir in the milk until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
  6. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not mix so the layers form properly while baking.
  7. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For best texture allow the cobbler to rest for at least 10 minutes so the filling thickens slightly before serving.
