Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced
- 3 quarter cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 quarter teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 half cup unsalted butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and pour the melted butter into a baking dish.
- In a bowl combine sliced peaches with half cup of the sugar lemon juice and vanilla. Stir and set aside.
- In another bowl whisk flour baking powder salt and remaining sugar.
- Stir in the milk until a smooth batter forms.
- Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not mix so the layers form properly while baking.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For best texture allow the cobbler to rest for at least 10 minutes so the filling thickens slightly before serving.
