- 1 1/2 cups sugar

- 2 tablespoons lemon zest (from 2-3 lemons)
- 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment, lightly greasing it.
- Whisk flour and salt in one bowl.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar for 3-4 minutes until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Stir in lemon zest, juice, and vanilla.
- Gently fold in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Spread batter evenly in the pan and bake 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely on a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice and zest, then drizzle over cooled brownies.
- Let set 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For extra tang, add a bit more zest to the glaze.
- Serve chilled for a refreshing summer treat.
