Description
This easy homemade salted caramel sauce is smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced with salt. It is ready in minutes for desserts and snacks.
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup heavy cream warmed
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
Instructions
- Add the sugar, corn syrup, and water to a heavy bottomed saucepan and stir until the sugar is fully moistened.
- Place the pan over medium heat and cook, stirring gently, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to boil.
- Stop stirring and allow the mixture to boil undisturbed until it turns a deep amber color, about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and slowly pour in the warm heavy cream while stirring carefully. The mixture will bubble vigorously.
- Stir until smooth, then add the butter and salt and mix until fully incorporated.
- Let the sauce cool slightly, then transfer to a heat safe jar or container.
