Description
This viral Dirty Diet Coke Float transforms Diet Coke into a creamy, tropical dessert drink using coconut cream, vanilla ice cream, and fresh lime. It is a quick, no-cook treat perfect for casual entertaining.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons coconut cream
- 2 tablespoons coconut syrup
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
- 2 cups crushed ice or pebble ice
- 12 ounces chilled Diet Coke
- 2 large scoops vanilla ice cream
- 2 tablespoons sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 fresh lime, cut into wheels
- Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Fill a tall glass with crushed ice, leaving room at the top for ice cream and foam.
- Add coconut syrup and fresh lime juice directly over the ice, then stir gently to distribute the flavors throughout the glass.
- Drizzle coconut cream and heavy cream around the inside edges of the glass, allowing them to cascade down through the ice.
- Slowly pour the chilled Diet Coke down the side of the glass to minimize fizzing, filling to about three-quarters full.
- Add two generous scoops of vanilla ice cream on top, pressing down slightly so they rest securely in the glass.
- Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream, sprinkle with shredded coconut, and add a lime wheel on the rim for presentation.
- Serve immediately with a long spoon and straw, stirring gently before each sip to blend the melting ice cream with the soda.
Notes
- Use pebble ice or crushed ice for better texture and faster melting.
- Chill your glass in the freezer for 10 minutes before assembling to keep the float colder longer.
- Pour the Diet Coke slowly down the side of the glass to prevent excessive foaming.
- Squeeze the lime wheel into your drink as you sip to release fresh citrus oils.
- Swap vanilla ice cream for coconut ice cream to intensify the tropical flavor.
- Replace coconut syrup with 2 tablespoons cream of coconut for a thicker coconut taste.
