Description

Golden crispy keto onion rings made with almond flour and Parmesan. Easy air fryer or oven method with perfect crunch and low carbs.


Ingredients

  • 1 large sweet onion sliced into rings
  • 1 cup finely ground almond flour
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • Cooking spray


Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F or oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper if using the oven.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine almond flour, Parmesan cheese, baking powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until smooth.
  4. Dip each onion ring into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
  5. Press the onion ring into the almond flour mixture, coating well and pressing gently so the coating sticks.
  6. Place coated rings on a tray. Let them rest for 5 to 10 minutes to help the coating set.
  7. Arrange onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket or on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
  8. Air fryer method: Cook for 5 minutes, flip carefully, spray again, and cook another 5 minutes until golden and crisp.
  9. Oven method: Bake for 10 minutes, flip, spray again, and bake an additional 10 to 12 minutes until crispy and browned.
  10. Serve immediately while hot and crisp.

Notes

  • Press the coating firmly onto the onion rings to prevent it from falling off during cooking.
  • Do not overcrowd the basket or sheet to ensure proper crisping.
