Description

A rich mixture of shrimp, crab, and cheese baked in a creamy garlic sauce for a comforting seafood dinner.

Ingredients

  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 pound shrimp peeled deveined and chopped
  • 8 ounces lump crab meat drained and picked over
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese divided
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until pink and cooked through. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Remove from heat.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, crab meat, ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Spoon the seafood filling evenly into the cooked pasta shells and place them in the prepared baking dish.
  6. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  7. Slowly whisk in the milk until smooth. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Stir in the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  9. Pour the cream sauce evenly over the stuffed shells.
  10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  11. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
