Description

Crispy, buttery cream cheese churro rollups coated in cinnamon sugar for an easy dessert.


Ingredients

  • For the Filling: 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating: 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • For the Rollups: 8 slices soft white sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla bean paste until smooth and creamy.
  3. In a shallow bowl, stir together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread until thin and flexible.
  5. Spread about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture evenly over each bread slice.
  6. Roll each slice tightly into a log shape and place seam-side down.
  7. Dip each rollup into the melted butter, coating all sides.
  8. Roll the buttered bread in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
  9. Arrange the rollups seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown and crisp around the edges.
  11. Cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
