Ingredients
- For the cookies: 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- For the crumb topping: 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- For the glaze: 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients; mix until a soft dough forms.
- Stir together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the crumb topping until crumbly.
- Scoop cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet and flatten each cookie slightly.
- Sprinkle crumb topping generously over each cookie.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool cookies completely.
- Stir together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze and drizzle over cooled cookies.
Notes
- For soft cookies, avoid overbaking; remove from oven when centers still look slightly soft.
