  • 10 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ⅓ cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, gently mix apple slices with light brown sugar, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract until evenly coated. Spread this mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a separate large bowl, stir together quick cooking oats, all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Pour melted butter into the topping mixture and stir until moist and well combined. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples in the dish.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
