Ingredients
- 10 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
- ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ⅓ cups quick cooking oats
- 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish.
- In a large bowl, gently mix apple slices with light brown sugar, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract until evenly coated. Spread this mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate large bowl, stir together quick cooking oats, all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, and baking powder.
- Pour melted butter into the topping mixture and stir until moist and well combined. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples in the dish.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
