Description

A classic, buttery, and moist vanilla pound cake with a rich flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ⅔ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
  5. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center is clean. You may cover the top with foil for the last 20 minutes to prevent excessive browning.
  7. Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes. Loosen the sides with a knife and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
