Ingredients
- 4 large Granny Smith apples peeled cored and sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Peel core and slice the apples into evenly sized wedges and toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Heat a large skillet over medium low heat and add the butter. Let it melt gently without browning.
- Stir in the brown sugar granulated sugar and cinnamon until dissolved and smooth about 1 minute.
- Add the sliced apples and stir to coat evenly in the cinnamon butter mixture.
- Cook uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes stirring occasionally until the apples are tender but not mushy and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
