Description

An easy churro cheesecake french toast bake with cinnamon sugar, creamy layers, and soft baked bread. A warm, indulgent breakfast perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf brioche bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 14 ounces)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9 by 13 inch baking dish and spread half of the cubed brioche evenly in the bottom.
  2. Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla flavoring until smooth. Drop spoonfuls over the bread layer and gently spread.
  3. Add the remaining bread cubes on top to form a second layer.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla flavoring, and salt until fully combined.
  5. Pour the custard evenly over the bread, pressing lightly so all pieces absorb the liquid.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden.
  8. Brush the baked casserole with melted butter while still warm.
  9. Mix sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the top.
  10. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a softer texture, cover loosely with foil during the first 25 minutes of baking, then uncover to finish.
