Description
An easy churro cheesecake french toast bake with cinnamon sugar, creamy layers, and soft baked bread. A warm, indulgent breakfast perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf brioche bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 14 ounces)
- 6 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Grease a 9 by 13 inch baking dish and spread half of the cubed brioche evenly in the bottom.
- Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla flavoring until smooth. Drop spoonfuls over the bread layer and gently spread.
- Add the remaining bread cubes on top to form a second layer.
- Whisk eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla flavoring, and salt until fully combined.
- Pour the custard evenly over the bread, pressing lightly so all pieces absorb the liquid.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden.
- Brush the baked casserole with melted butter while still warm.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the top.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a softer texture, cover loosely with foil during the first 25 minutes of baking, then uncover to finish.
