Description

Churro Cheesecake Bars are a delicious dessert that combines the flavors of churros and cheesecake. This recipe is easy to make, perfect for beginners.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • Two 8-oz packages refrigerated crescent roll dough or sheets
  • 16 oz full fat cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly

Instructions

  1. Combine cinnamon and sugar for the topping. Set aside.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of the cinnamon sugar mixture into the bottom of the pan.
  3. Open one tube of crescent roll dough. Unroll it and press the seams together to form a single rectangle. Press this dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan, ensuring it covers the entire bottom.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ¾ cup granulated sugar, 1 large egg, and 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract. Beat until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust layer in the pan.
  6. Open the second tube of crescent roll dough. Unroll it and press the seams together, just like the first layer. Place this dough over the cream cheese mixture, making sure it covers the cream cheese completely.
  7. Pour the 3 tablespoons of melted butter over the top layer of dough and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over the butter.
  8. Bake for 26-30 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown.
  9. Let the bars cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Transfer the cooled bars to the refrigerator and chill until firm.
  11. Once chilled, cut into bars and serve.

Notes

Optional toppings can include a drizzle of caramel sauce or a dusting of powdered sugar.
