Description
Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies are a delicious dessert that combines the best of both worlds: chewy chocolate chip cookie dough layered over rich brownie batter. This recipe is perfect for beginners and guarantees a crowd-pleasing treat.
Ingredients
- 1 stick salted butter (1/2 cup, very soft)
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 18.9 ounce brownie mix
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugars with an electric mixer in a small bowl until smooth. Add vanilla and egg; cream again.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt gently until just incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips. Chill the dough in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Prepare the brownie batter according to the package directions. Pour the batter into a greased 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking dish.
- Break off pieces of the chilled cookie dough and scatter them evenly over the brownie batter. Gently press the dough into the batter until it begins to sink slightly.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes. Bake for 35 minutes for a gooey center, or longer for a fully baked result. Cover with foil if the top starts to brown too quickly.
- Let the brownies stand for 15-20 minutes before cutting and serving.
Notes
- You may not need all the cookie dough for an 8×8 pan; save any extra for regular cookies.
- Adjust baking time based on your desired level of gooeyness.
