Description

Juicy chili lime chicken burgers made with fresh herbs, lime, and veggies. A zesty, high-protein meal ready in 20 minutes for easy weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking
  • Optional toppings: 1 avocado, sliced; 2 small tomatoes, sliced; Extra lime wedges and cilantro


Instructions

  1. Combine ground chicken, green onion, bell pepper, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, salt, and red pepper flakes in a mixing bowl. Mix until evenly combined.
  2. Divide mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into flat patties about 3/4 inch thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook patties for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through to an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Remove from heat and let rest for 2 minutes.
  6. Serve on buns, lettuce wraps, or over a salad with avocado, tomato, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.
