Description
Juicy chili lime chicken burgers made with fresh herbs, lime, and veggies. A zesty, high-protein meal ready in 20 minutes for easy weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
- 1/4 cup finely diced red bell pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lime
- 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking
- Optional toppings: 1 avocado, sliced; 2 small tomatoes, sliced; Extra lime wedges and cilantro
Instructions
- Combine ground chicken, green onion, bell pepper, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, salt, and red pepper flakes in a mixing bowl. Mix until evenly combined.
- Divide mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into flat patties about 3/4 inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook patties for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through to an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Remove from heat and let rest for 2 minutes.
- Serve on buns, lettuce wraps, or over a salad with avocado, tomato, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.
